Use Storage Boxes for Your Move to Thailand
Moving house is a hard enough task when you’re simply going to the next town, but what about moving overseas? A move from the U.K. to Thailand, the jewel of Southeast Asia, means choosing the right packing supplies to make sure your belongings arrive safely. An overseas move involves various types of transportation, all with plenty of hands handling the container that holds your cardboard boxes. Between all the people involved, and the rough nature of the travel, securing your possessions becomes much more important.
You could go down to the local market and pick up any old cartons they plan to discard. That would be a mistake. Boxes used for retail stores tend to be thin and less sturdy. At the very least, you’ll want cardboard boxes designed specifically for moving. If you have especially fragile items you should seriously consider using plastic storage boxes. You’ll find them to be more than capable of withstanding bumps and vibrations, rough seas or air, and the weight of anything stacked on top. A strip of packing tape will make sure they stay closed.
Be sure to use bubble wrap around fragile items, placing them in your boxes with packing paper between various items. For less fragile items that still need extra care, consider double wall or corrugated boxes. They offer more protection that a standard single wall box without the added expense of plastic storage boxes. They are ideal for things like dishes, which should be individually wrapped in paper and placed in the box on edge. Use a wardrobe box for shirts, suits, and dresses rather than trying to stuff them in a regular moving box. With the right supplies and a good plan, all your things should arrive safely in Thailand.
